BLOCH WINE
Where there’s a will, there’s a wine. Bloch Wine brings together three passions of its founders — philanthropy, local produce and wine. In 2010, Tom and Mary Bloch added a vineyard to their Pleasant Hill, MO farm with the goal of using the wine produced to benefit area charities. Working together, we created a brand connecting the art of winemaking and the passion of giving. Their premise: buy a case and get a gift card to donate to an organization of your choice. The challenge–how do you make a brand speak to wine lovers and philanthropists at the same time? A modern, elegant brand system was developed to symbolize the love of giving through winemaking. Their initial limited run featured a unique design for each of the 12 bottles, guiding the buyer through a different phase in the process of winemaking from initial seed to harvest through fermentation to indulgence. A unique case was designed to showcase the process and story. Affectionately deemed a “wine tree” it presents each bottle in the appropriate chronological order.

Pieces designed in tandem with the initial case and label include stationary, logo, cork, invitation, and commercial label. Challenging parameters included a brand development timeline that paralleled product launch. To maintain consistency we began brand development prior to moving into deliverable phases. During the strategy phase, clients were guided through exercises developing core elements to drive a clear, consistent presence.
